What is true love?

“To see a World in a Grain of Sand

And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,

Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand

And Eternity in an hour.”

― William Blake, Auguries of Innocence

William Blake’s quote eloquently describes what true love is in words – One of the few life changing events that happen in our lives like seeing your child for the first time, it is that feeling, that emotion – absolutely pure, innocent, without any expectation, divine and beautiful. Human beings experience this kind of love very few times in their lives and would never forget it for eternity when it actually happens.

Apart from experiencing this event after the birth of my child, the other times I experienced true love was when I began my journey in to Sahaja Yoga. When your soul understands it has been longing for the kind of love which has to be experienced – it happened the day when I was blessed with self- realization through Sahaja Yoga. I came in as an unsure, pessimistic and vulnerable being, but left as a confident, certain individual who felt that this was what the soul had been looking for. When you experience your self-realization through Sahaja Yoga, a lot of things start working out within our being but the first event that triggered was the oneness, the love that emanated from Shri Mataji’s photograph. It is all encompassing, divine love that fills you with dignity, with gravity, opens your heart completely and gives an understanding that you are a powerful entity within this world and yet there is deep humility about being a part of the Divine play. It is incredibly nourishing and transforming. That love that was experienced did indeed last for an eternity, and so it continues…
