Nowrooz Celebration at Bethesda Sahaja Yoga Meditation Center; 2017

Today was very special. We all clapped together for the celebration of Iranian New Year. Nowrooz means new day. The first day of spring is very special for us, not only in Iranian culture, many other Middle Eastern cultures, we celebrate the first day of spring because we think it’s rebirth and for that brings joy, love peace.

We actually practice Persian arts, music, visual art, poetry, which is very rich in our culture. That’s why we came together.

They’re mostly about Nowrooz, new year, as they explained before, the nature gets new and it was about happiness, about loving each other, giving and being at the moment. That collaborated beautifully between the yoga and meditation and what we did.

We come with the hope of connecting with each other. It’s a connection of our mind, heart and body and this connection is so strong, we feel very great energy. We make ourselves to be disconnected from stress, everyday life that we are dealing in the pain. We feel love we feel power but an energy, a positive energy that we are getting it through a deep breathing and focusing to our body.

Whenever I participated in the Sahaja yoga meditation, I really feel relaxed, all my stress went away and I was so happy to enjoy this group and I would like to continue in the future. It’s very, very helpful, it is it brings hope, it brings happiness and it releases all the stresses and I feel very good about it.

We have some agenda which is actually the same for all of us, practicing peace, practicing our cultural identity which each of us have in common. That’s why I think it was a successful event for all of us.
