How did I start Sahaja Yoga ?

When I came to Sahaja yoga it was actually because of my father. He was really seeking a lot and I was only a child, so I didn’t know much about…

-Where were you?

I was in Bombay, it’s called Mumbai now and I was going for my exams actually. Next day were my exams and my father said, no, he had got his realization just the day before.

– When was that?

1972 that was and actually my father, his story was his best friend said to him, I want something that I don’t have to depend on a guru. Normally gurus in India either take money or they have some sort of thing which they can’t give to the disciples and that was very innate anything that my father really was expecting and being a child I didn’t know much about it but I heard him saying that to his friend, I still remember that. He said it’s nice to have something that I can stand on my feet and I can do something. He said, oh, really, I know a lady, they call her Shri Mataji. I’ll take you there and then I’ll you know. He went there and he came home and he said, I’ve got this realization. The next day were exams, then he took all the family, my mother and my brother as well and we got a realization there and that’s it really.

-What was it like? how old were you when you met Mother?

About 17 because in 1972 so I was 17 years old.

– How did you feel when you saw Shri Mataji?

We had been to, it was in Mother’s house actually.
