Everthing Sahaja Yoga – Our meditation is very different …

Ian: Hello and welcome to the first episode of Everything Sahaja Yoga. In our show we’re going to have conversations, spontaneous conversation just talk everything about Sahaja. Maybe it’s about health, maybe it’s about enhance your brain productivity, maybe it’s about helping your marriage. It’s everything. So, I going to introduce myself. My name is Ian. I’ve been doing Sahaja Yoga for just over three months. And we’ll start with this side. Please introduce yourself.

Grant: Hi, I am Grant Fidler, I’ve been doing Sahaja Yoga for about 300 years.

Monisha: My name is Monisha, I’ve been in Sahaja Yoga since I was a teenager.

Surinder: My name is Surinder. I’ve been doing Sahaja Yoga since 24 years. So, it’s very nice, we have lots of fun in Sahaja Yoga. We’re not doing only meditation. When we get together, we’re also doing dancing, we also do dinner together and we have everything in special way. We have a relationship just like brother and sister and we are really happy and we’re always thinking about each other, you know, like, how to help each other with Sahaja Yoga.

Monisha: And it’s not only that. Sahaja Yoga is beyond any race, any country, any culture. Even if you don’t know the language, we speak the same language of vibrations and joy. So, you can meditate with any person of any age or from any part of the world and you just connect with the person and can feel what state inside him or her on your hand tips. Have you tried it?

Grant: Yeah, I can remember being in India with some of the gatherings down by the water in Ganpatipule with Shri Mataji back in the early 90s and we’d have people from 50 different nationalities, nobody understanding anybody or each other and yet we all understood everybody. We’d sit down, and once we raised our Kundalini and experienced this tremendous joy and peace that comes from Shri Mataji, we were all this silent community of talking silently, really enjoying each other, because communication isn’t about language as much as it’s about feelings and having a communal feeling with each other and if you have a unified spirituality you’ve got everything.

Ian: Knowing that, even if somebody totally doesn’t believe, let’s say there’s a pessimist …

Grant: Were you a pessimist, Ian? Come on, your first class, what were you like in your first class? What did you think? Be honest.

Ian: I just, don’t want to charge me money.

Grant: Don’t want to charge you money. And instead of charging money, they fed you.

Ian: No, this is what I learned. Even a pessimist, the meditation will work because the Sahaja Yoga meditation stops the mental crosses, it shuts up the thinking and your autonomic nervous system. So, even for a pessimist it works.

Monisha: You know, I was a pessimist. I’m honest, I was a pessimist. I was like, what is this moving hands and energies, it something really works? So, I started with my mom, had already started before me and I used to see her meditating. We do a lot of treatments in Sahaja Yoga, like using water and earth element and I used to see her doing all this stuff and as a teenager, you know, it’s a little funny, what is this water going to do or what is this candle going to do. So, I had a little feeling of challenging it. Then I took my realization and, as you said, I stopped, completely stopped the thoughts and so much joy you feel on the top of your head and you are completely lost in the thoughtless and that joy answered all my questions. So, no pessimist, no optimist, just pure experience. Anybody tried that, I guess?

Surinder: Yes, other good thing in here there is no religion. Any religion can come and join. So, we don’t say the Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim. We respect all the religion and when they come so we are one. All we think is we are a human being so we respect all religions. The religion is coming from your inside. When you do meditation, you just see the person as a human being, you don’t see any religion. So, that’s what I really like in Sahaja yoga. Otherwise, if you go anywhere they said, if you’re doing one religion, you have to do only one religion. But in here, you know, like, we’re mixed.

Ian: Sahaja Yoga brings, a lot of religions turn into dogma, some concept, some idea, ideology, but Sahaja Yoga brings the experience, become internal. So, instead of believing certain words and phrase, you have that experience inside.

Monisha: And that it’s so strong that nobody can take it out from you. And the best part, you are your own master, as we say. So, you’re not getting influenced by somebody or I am believing because this guy is white and I have to believe him, nothing like that. I believe because it’s my own experience and then nobody can say it is right or wrong.

Grant: That’s true. I mean, I know for myself I was a, you’re a pessimist, I was a narcissist. If anybody doesn’t know a narcissist, a guy who liked to look in the mirror, himself, I was an actor, but now after Sahaja Yoga, I’m a humanist. The mirror is not on the outside, the mirror that you’re looking at is the inside here. You clean your own mirror and you have so much more love and Shri Mataji is the only person that can ever, ever clean the mirror for you. This is it, now we’re all just humanists and loving each other and really enjoying this yoga.

Ian: And even for a devoted Christian. A lot of devoted Christian had trouble. They are thinking, it’s idling, it’s worshiping. It’s not. Sahaja Yoga meditation is a pure meditation. You don’t worship nothing, it’s not religion, it’s a meditation technique. You believe whatever God you like to believe. It’s your experiences, your spiritual experience, it’s your mental silence.

Monisha: You were telling something other day, difference between relaxation and meditation which you felt here. Can you explain that? How it is different than going to spa? Ian: Yes, there are a lot of commercialized meditation that people spend money to learn or you have to donate money to learn or they’re selling you books and other stuff, like upselling, which it looks like they are doing for free or charity but really, they have a business motive.

Grant: Automatic renewal on your Visa next month.

Ian: Yeah, so the big difference with Sahaja yoga is the class it’s really, really free. There’s no hidden charges, there is no upselling you any books, any trips, anything. It’s when you come to the Sahaja Yoga class, their intention is to help you and because the intention is so clear, when people come, they learn so fast.

Grant: That’s fantastic. I think this has been a wonderful first introduction to all the YouTube viewers out there. I hope they’ll come back and see us next week when we can delve more deeply into the joy of Sahaja Yoga and learn some meditation techniques online. We’ll talk maybe a little bit more, Surinder, about your classes which you’re doing on Wednesday night which are growing so much.

Surinder: Because you know, this class is really good. I tell people, you know, you have to keep two separate things, you have to keep your body and spirit as the separate. That’s what I’m teaching them because you already feed to our body, not to our spirit. So, when we start doing meditation, we start feeding our spirit, so that’s why we’re getting good vibrations and we get more antibodies in our body because the spirit, you know, like, when you do meditation, you get more strong, you get more peace inside. So, then we’re telling our energy centers, how to check your energy center, which energy centers and how to clear this energy center, how to help Kundalini to go on your top chakra. We teach many things slowly, slowly. The people become their own master in 2, 3 months and then they don’t have to go to the doctor, they can find out what’s wrong with them and they can cure themselves through meditation. That’s what we teach. The next class we have on Wednesday.

Grant: So, you would say to the new seekers, you would invite their spirits to come to your house and the bodies can just come along for the ride?

Monisha: So, it’s in Burnaby, is it?

Surinder: It’s in Burnaby, yeah.

Grant: What’s your address, Surinder?

Surinder: 5707. We have website meditationburnaby.ca and phone number 604715 8888. You can call anytime.

Grant: And we have free shuttle from the Skytree.

Surinder: Yes, yes, we do have for the student free shuttle. Ian: We also do free pick up from the airport, so if you are from other city, Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, just give us a call, we’ll pick you up at the airport. It’s an international business.

Monisha: Not business because it’s free.

Grant: Business of the divine.

Ian: International awareness.
