Attachments

Left channel in human beings or Ida Nadi can be explained in a simplistic way as the emotional side present on the left side of the body and crosses over to the right side of our brain to form our super-ego or conditioning.

The most challenging part of human life is attachments. Attachments can be material, to past, to habits or to people. The worst are the emotional attachments – attachments to families, children, loved ones or attachments caused to insecurity or fear of loneliness being probably the toughest. We live in an extremely superficial world, surrounded by materialism, surrounded by distractions coupled with an imbalanced lifestyle hidden under the garb of success. The attachment, as well as determination towards understanding our true self, finding peace, finding joy in our lives, is so limited that the so-called world of excitement, superficiality, and drama is often equated to happiness.

Coming back to the left channel, why would that be relevant to this topic? We are often seeking happiness, joy, and satisfaction through personal introspection as well as outward habits, rituals or just plain devotion towards God to try to find that peace within. Does it always work – sometimes it may, sometimes it may not depending on how strong the emotional attachment is, our ability to let go and so on? The reason why Sahaja Yoga works is the spontaneous movement of our Mothering energy, the Kundalini to guide us through the right path to find the peace, the joy, the satisfaction which is all within. It may seem quite abstract without having an experience, however, let me try to describe what I experienced to overcome – or work towards overcoming attachments.

At the beginning of the journey in Sahaja Yoga, I believed that I had done it – especially dealing with being homesick – attachment to home, family, once I discovered Sahaja Yoga, unfortunately not so much at a fast pace. It might seem frustrating but the becoming of a flower, or a fruit or a tree has to take its time. It cannot be pushed and this is the hardest to comprehend. Little by little like peeling the petals of the flower to find its inner roots – stigma/ovary/ovule, our beautiful inner being gets exposed and then there are some obstacles sometimes. This is only so that the ascension takes place, which is so subtle, so beautiful and so joy-giving, that you actually look forward to what you would experience next. Eventually, you discover that you have definitely been able to overcome and work on the cause of attachment, face the problem and move on – possibly to the next phase – knowing that you are in a different realm, that there is something blossoming within our being and with an understanding that you are always protected.

Are you ready for this experience?
